Looking Forward to Mexico, November 2026

It is now June 2026, and it is probably a good time to talk about my planned trip to Mexico in November 2026. During this visit, I hope to share the Spanish and Portuguese editions of my queer science-fiction novel, Membranas.

There are still some uncertainties on my side. As a citizen of Taiwan, obtaining a visa to enter Mexico is not always straightforward, and traveling all the way from Taiwan to Mexico is a long and challenging journey. Nevertheless, I remain optimistic and hope that everything will go smoothly.

I am especially excited about this trip because I have long admired Mexico's vibrant literary culture and its rich traditions of intellectual, artistic, and social engagement. I have also heard many wonderful things about Mexico's LGBTQ+ communities, and I look forward to learning from them and meeting people in person.

If all goes according to plan, I will participate in two book events in Mexico City on Thursday, November 26, 2026, and Friday, November 27, 2026. One of the venues will be the legendary Somos Voces bookstore in Zona Rosa, a place I have long hoped to visit.

After Mexico City, I plan to attend the Guadalajara International Book Fair and will be available there from Monday, November 30, 2026, through Thursday, December 3, 2026.

To everyone in Mexico: I would be delighted to meet you in person. Please come by, say hello, and chat with me if you have the chance. It would be a great pleasure to connect with readers, writers, activists, publishers, translators, and anyone interested in literature, science fiction, queer culture, or Taiwan.

As a university professor, I would also be especially happy to meet local scholars, researchers, teachers, and graduate students.

Between now and November 2026, I would also warmly welcome interview opportunities from newspapers, magazines, YouTubers, bloggers, podcasters, Instagram creators, and other media based in Mexico. I would be happy to talk about LGBTQ+ literature and rights, science fiction, Taiwan, and many other related topics.

As long as we can communicate in English, I will do my very best to make myself available. Written interviews are also most welcome.

Thank you all for your interest and support. I am very much looking forward to visiting Mexico, learning from its people, and meeting many of you there.
